Chrome for Android adds “copy image” option to Context menu

The ability to copy an image found on web in Chrome browser on Android to system clipboard isn’t a native feature or not built-into the browser, Chromium team is now making this possible for the user by offering a new context menu option with name “Copy image” which you could observe if long press on a picture when you enable “context menu copy image” flag in the browser.

While Chrome makes it easier to transfer content seamlessly from Android to desktop or vice versa and offers share option in the menu which being customized now with QR Code, Send to your device, Copy link and Screenshot options to share stuff to different applications, but Android Chrome badly needs an option to copy and paste images to any app such as WhatsApp or other via clipboard.

Recently revamped context menu in Chrome  provides ability preview, download and share an image, now Google is adding copy option to the long- pressed menu, here is how to enable it in Chrome.

Enable Copy image option in Context menu for Chrome on Android

1. In Latest Chrome Canary 82,

2. Visit chrome://flags/#context-menu-copy-image in address bar

3. Select Enabled and restart the browser.

Now if you long-press on an image, you’ll notice the new option, select it to copy the image to the clipboard and paste it to the desired place.
