Microsoft Edge Addons Site (beta) goes live with Search function and 162 extensions

Microsoft Edge Insider Add-ons site no longer holds the word”Insider”, its Microsoft Edge Addons in “Beta” now with search feature to find the extensions you’re looking for, and gets 40 new extensions to make the total addons count to go pass 160.

Eventhough Chromium Edge allows to install extensions from Chrome Web Store, Microsoft maintains a dedicated Addons Store their browser. Till yesterday, the Store offered limited number of add-ons (123 to be precise) from ad-blockers and password managers such as Ublock Origin, LastPass and Dashlane to Microsoft’s OneNote Web clipper.

With the Extensions Store redeisgn, Microsoft has restructured add-ons sections and moved extensions in adblockers and password managers into Productivity and offers plenty of new extensions for Shopping and Social. For instance, Shopping provides Amazon Assitant and Microsoft Personal shipping Asistant whereas Social contains familiar Avast online Security and F.B Purity for Facebook.

Microsoft Edge Addons Store beta

You’ll find ad blocker and Password manager extensions in Productivity. Anytime, you can can use the newly added search button to find the extensions you want to install.

Micrsoft already announced Edge Stable release date as January 15, 2020, they’re now readying their extension store for that, the Store now has attained beta label, expect Microsoft to add more extensions and possibly remove the beta tag when it gets closer to Edge launching date.
