Microsoft Edge beta for Android hits Play Store w/ Coupons & Ad blocker features

After Canary and Dev, Microsoft has released the Edge beta version for Android to Play Store. With the beta launch, Edge on Android have now all channels available like Edge on desktop and is in line in terms of version numbers and features.

You should see a reorganization of preferences and missing features with code change since the Dev version.

  • Edge comes with Tracking Prevention and Smartscreen features.
  • Notably, Edge has Shopping coupon features available behind a flag. You can enable it by visiting edge://flags/#edge-coupons-enable.
  • To block ads on Edge in Android
    Tap on three-icon on the toolbar
    Select Settings > Privacy and security > Block ads, tap the first toggle to enable Adblock Plus.
  • The beta of Edge is currently using version number 92.0.902.12.
  • The user will be able to install this version from Play Store.
  • You can able to configure the Edge setup.
    For instance, you’ll be allowed to sync stuff across devices and manage the Edge theme, new tab page layout, and data sharing with Microsoft.
  • Adventurous or experienced users can test new features under development by enabling flags on edge://flags.
