Microsoft Edge comes with Shopping features enabled by default. It already displays coupons when you visit a retailer site, by applying them, you can save money. Soon, Edge will make it easier to check coupons on websites through a shopping button on the toolbar. Microsoft is now also aiming to show “travel recommendations” in the Edge browser when you allow it.
Enable or disable the Shopping button in Microsoft Edge:
The shopping coupons feature in Microsoft Edge has been available on desktop and Android for some time.
Microsoft Edge soon could ship with a dedicated button for shopping feature as it did for other features, here is how you can enable or disable it.
Click on Microsoft Edge menu icon > Settings > Appearance > toggle “Edge Shopping button”
After enabling, when you click it, it checks and shows coupons if any available for that website rather you waiting for Edge to display them.
Microsoft Edge Travel recommendations
After shopping, based on your browsing history and search in Microsoft Edge browser, Edge could offer recommendations for hotels and more from the web that help you to plan and book your trip.
Enable Travel recommendations
Click on menu icon > Settings > Privacy, search, and Services
Scroll down to Services, toggle “Show travel recommendations in Microsoft Edge” to enable.
It is worth noting that, you may have to allow Edge to access your browsing history and searches.
For this, you may have to turn on “Allow Microsoft to use your browsing activity including history, favorites, usage, and other browsing
data to personalize Microsoft Edge and Microsoft services like ads, search, shopping and news.” setting available under
Personalization & advertising in Privacy, search, and Services.
Microsoft Edge also comes with a controversial feature that requires sharing your browsing data With Windows. However, the Setting itself assures it will be used to find Edge information from the search box on the taskbar in Windows.
The above new Edge features may be behind Controlled rollouts and could show up to everyone in Edge 94 or 95 versions.
