The Oculus download for PC is now the free Meta Horizon Link app, installed from Meta’s setup page on Windows 11 or Windows 10. It connects your Meta Quest headset to the PC by USB-C cable or over Wi-Fi.
Meta renamed the Oculus PC app to Meta Quest Link, then to Meta Horizon Link. All three names lead to the same download, and an existing Oculus PC install updates itself to the renamed app.

Meta splits the old Oculus software into separate apps. Match what you want to do with the device you have.

Only the first row is a PC download for VR games. The phone app sets up the headset but does not stream PC games to it.
Check the Meta Horizon Link specs and PC requirements
Link runs the game on your PC and streams it to the headset. The graphics card decides whether it works at all, so check it before you download.

Download Meta Horizon Link from the official Meta site
Meta publishes the Link PC app on its Quest setup page. The Download Meta Horizon Link app button there is the official source, and it hands the file off to oculus.com, Meta’s older domain.
Any other site offering an “Oculus setup” file is a copy. Skip it, because the real app is free from Meta.

Update the headset before the first connection. Meta requires a Quest running the latest software for Link to work.
How to install the Oculus app on Windows 11 and 10 and connect your Quest
Free up at least 4 GB on the drive first. The 5.0 MB setup file downloads the rest of the app, so stay online while it runs.
- Open the Meta Quest setup page on your Windows PC.
- Click Download Meta Horizon Link app and save the file.
- Open the downloaded file and select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
- Follow the on-screen setup, then open Meta Horizon Link and log in.
- Plug the USB 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on the PC, then plug the other end into the headset.
- Press the Meta button on your controller to open the Navigator.
- Select Quick controls, then select Link.
- Select the computer your headset is plugged into, then select Launch.
Link and Air Link are on by default on headsets with current software. If Link is missing, open Quick controls > Settings > Link and turn the Link toggle on.
Should you use a Link cable or Air Link?
The same app handles both. The difference is how the picture reaches the headset.
Use a Link cable if your PC has a fast USB port; use Air Link when a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network sits near the PC. Meta pitches the USB-C cable for reliable speed and Air Link for freedom of movement. The cable needs USB-C 3.2 at 5 Gb/s or faster; Air Link needs the PC and headset on the same network.
To pair Air Link, open Quick controls, select Link and turn on Use Air Link. Select your PC, select Pair, confirm the matching code on the computer, then select Launch.
Turn Air Link off again before you go back to a cable. Meta’s troubleshooting guide says to keep Air Link off whenever you use a cable.
Is the Oculus PC app free?
Yes. Meta offers the Link app as a free download, and the iPhone and Android companion app is free too.
Download it free from meta.com and never pay for an “Oculus setup” file. The app itself costs nothing. What you pay for is the games you buy, and the Meta Horizon mobile app lists in-app purchases.
Steam Link on the Meta Store is also free. It still needs a PC running Steam and SteamVR.
Can you get Meta Quest Link on a Mac?
No. Meta supports Link on Windows only, so a Mac cannot run PC VR games through it.
A Mac still works with a Quest in two ways: as a virtual display, and through the phone app for setup.

Developers on macOS are pointed to Meta XR Simulator instead of Link.
Which graphics cards work with Meta Horizon Link?
Meta keeps a list of tested GPUs. A card marked unsupported is the most common reason Link refuses to start on a PC that otherwise looks capable.

Open Task Manager, select Performance and pick GPU to read your card’s exact name. Update its driver before you connect for the first time.
Fix the Oculus app not installing or not working on Windows
Pick the symptom that matches, then work through its fixes in order.
The Meta Horizon Link app fails to load
The drive is short of space. Meta asks for at least 9 GB free in this case.
- Open Settings > System > Storage and check the free space on the install drive.
- Move large files such as videos and music to external storage.
- Uninstall programs you no longer use, or run Disk Cleanup.
- Uninstall the Link app, restart the PC and install it again from meta.com.
The installer will not finish
Space and hardware checks come first, then a clean download.
- Free at least 4 GB on the drive.
- Compare your processor, memory and GPU with Meta’s requirements table.
- Update your graphics driver and restart the PC.
- Download a fresh copy from the Meta Quest setup page and run it again.
The headset does not see the PC over the cable
The cable, the port or an Air Link setting is blocking the connection.
- Plug the cable into a different USB 3.0 port, or try another cable.
- Turn off Use Air Link in the headset’s Link menu.
- Restart both the headset and the computer.
- Update the headset software, then try again.
Air Link cannot find or keep the connection
The headset and PC are on different networks or the Wi-Fi link is weak.
- Connect the PC and headset to the same network, preferably 5 GHz.
- Restart your router.
- Temporarily turn off firewall or antivirus software that blocks Link.
- Log out of the Meta Horizon Link app and log back in.
Games stutter or drop frames
The PC is overloaded or the graphics settings are too high.
- Close programs running in the background.
- Lower the graphics preferences in the Link app.
- Update your graphics driver.
- Switch from Air Link to a wired Link cable.
How to uninstall the Oculus app from Windows
Remove the app when you are done with PC VR or before a clean reinstall.
- Close the Meta Horizon Link app and unplug the headset.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps on Windows 11, or Settings > Apps > Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Type Meta or Oculus in the search box.
- Select the … menu next to the Link app, then select Uninstall.
- Confirm with Uninstall and select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
- Restart the PC before you install the app again.
