As promised, Microsoft is finally offering Open, Save, and Save as options when downloading files in the new Microsoft Edge browser. The new UI is available to some users via controlled rollouts in the Canary version.
When you initiate a download, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Edge Legacy browsers prompt with a dialog at the bottom whether you want to open or run.or save the file you’re downloading.
The new Edge based on Chromium doesn’t offer those options, instead, it downloads the file right away. When you click on the ellipsis icon next to downloading file name, new Edge shows Open when done, Pause, Show in the folder and cancel options.
But users prefer run and Save as options because, with former, they can open files without downloading to download folder, whereas, with the latter, they can choose a different filename and different location.
Microsoft Edge Canary is now showing these options along with Save, save as and Cancel without Run.

In other news related to Edge Canary, the latest update 86.0.614.0 has taken away recently introduced DNS over HTTPS Settings and brought the “Secure DNS lookups” flag. Even if you enable the flag, Edge doesn’t show DNS service provider settings to manage.
