After Default Browser and Phone and other devices, Microsoft today added Family Safety to Edge Canary Settings to let you quickly reach the Family dashboard and “access someone’s settings or add any other new family member whenever you want”.
Back in June last year, Microsoft allowed parents to enable Family Safety features in the Edge Canary version via a flag to let them “apply content restrictions and report a child user’s web activity in accord with the parental policies set on the user’s account”.
The ability to reach Family dashboard from within new Microsoft Edge browser has been provided by Microsoft in Edge Canary 82.0.456.0 build, which means if you’ve set up Windows 10 device for Microsoft Family Safety by visiting Settings > Accounts >Family & other users and added accounts of your children, you can set screen limits, app, and game limits and ensure kids require your permission to buy stuff in the store right from the new Edge on Microsoft Family website.
Through the newly added Family safety section in browser settings, Microsoft says family Safety Settings won’t work properly if kids use other browsers, it suggests kids sign into new Edge with Microsoft Account on their devices for family safety to work without any issues.
