Microsoft has started promoting its Chromium-based Edge browser which has recently hit version 80 in Windows 10 Start Menu & Search. The company which has got criticism in the past for asking users to use Edge instead of installing Firefox is now caught doing a similar thing.
Microsoft is now showing a suggestion in the Start Menu by saying “Still using Firefox? Microsoft Edge is here”. This ad may annoy Windows users as well as Mozilla, a Mozillian who developed Picture-in-Picture for Firefox, has reacted to this by saying: “I see the Microsoft Edge marketers as thirsty as ever.”
The thing brought to attention by Redditor in a thread has obviously “show suggestions occasionally in start” enabled, you need to turn it off in Start Settings in the Settings app to not to get them. Microsoft may still figure out and shows ads about its browser.

Another user in the same Reddit thread said searching for Internet Explorer in Start also informing users about the new Edge browser with the result ” The new Edge browser is here. Same name, brand new browser. Download now.”
If you want to see Edge suggestion in Windows 10 Start menu, enable the setting in Start. As of now, we’re not getting the suggestion and search result, but don’t worry! Redmond Software giant desperately wants every Windows user to know about the Edge Chromium browser.
With this and the recent Windows 10 Search bar issue encountered by users seems it’s good for users to disable Bing Search in Windows. What do you say about this?
