Install InDesign, the release build, for real work. The release app, version 21.6 in September 2026, is the one Adobe supports for production files. InDesign (Beta) exists for testing new features and sending feedback. The beta is currently the only build that runs natively on Windows on Arm, starting with version 21.9 on Snapdragon X PCs with Windows 11 24H2 or later.

InDesign cannot install on removable flash drives, and on a Mac it cannot install on a case-sensitive volume.
Fix Adobe InDesign not installing on Windows or Mac
Setup stops with Error 195
Your processor does not support AVX2, or AVX2 is turned off in the firmware.
- Restart the computer and open the BIOS or UEFI settings.
- Find the processor options for AVX or AVX2 and turn them on.
- Save the settings, start Windows and run the installer again.
- Check your processor model on the Intel or AMD website if the error returns.

Setup says your operating system is not supported
InDesign 21.x needs Windows 10 21H2 or later, Windows 11 23H2 or later, or macOS 13 Ventura or later.
