Recently, we reported Microsoft pushed Cumulative update KB4577063 to Windows insiders in Beta and release Preview channels to fix WSL2’s Element not found issue caused by September 2020 Cumulative Update. Today, on October 1, Microsoft is offering the Windows build 19041.546 as an optional update to Windows 10 v 2004 via Windows Update.

in addition to the WSL2 problem, the optional update
- fixes a bunch of issues and End of Flash support notification to Internet Explorer browser.
- updates an issue that causes games that use spatial audio to stop working
- Reduces aberrations and distortions in Windows Mixed Reality head-mounted displays (HMD)
- Makes sure that new Windows Mixed Reality HMDs meet minimum specification requirements and default to a 90HZ refresh rate
- Adds support for certain new Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers.

The update is optional. You don’t need to install it right now. This update will be included and offered with the October Patch Tuesday update.

How to get KB4576033 update on Windows 10 2004 right now
- Open the Settings app (Win+I)
- Click Update & Security
- Click “View optional updates”
- Expand “Other updates”
- Select “2020-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 version 2004 for x64-based systems (KB4577063)
- Click “Download and install”.
After the update’s download and install is complete, you’ll have options available on the Power menu to “Update and shutdown” or “Update and restart”. Select an option to apply the update.
