Firefox for Android offers new Extensions on Privacy, Productivity and Ad Blocking in Nightly

Recently, we reported Firefox for Android Nightly received two popular extensions named Video Background Playback Fix and Google Search Fixer, Mozilla has now added a few more recommended add-ons related to the privacy, Password Management, adblocking, image search, and Productivity and are available in the Nightly version.

Mozilla has discontinued Fennec and launched new Firefox for Android code named Fenix with limited extensions support. The organization is working to bring more extensions to Android from the Recommended Extensions Program. As of today, before new add-ons addition, Nightly holds altogether 11 Recommended add-ons, here are they:

UBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, Privacy Badger, NoScript Security Suite, Dark Reader, Decentraleyes, Search by Image, YouTube Hight definition, Privacy Possum, Video Background Play Fix, and Google Search Fixer.

These can be installed by visiting the Add-ons menu in Settings.

Now from September 26 onwards, Mozilla is offering these extensions in Nightly:

  1. Foxproxy, Proxy Management tool
  2. Bitwarden Password Manager
  3. Adguard, ad-blocking extension
  4. Ghostery – Privacy extension that stops trackers and blocks ads.
  5. Image Search options, customizable reverse image search tool
  6. Web Archives, see archived web pages from Wayback Machine, Google, Bing, etc.
  7. Tomato Clock, an extension that helps with online time management
  8. Leech Block, a productivity tool that blocks time-wasting websites

Firefox for Android Nightly new Recommended Extensions September

In the above list, Ghostrey, Leech Block, Adguard, and Bitwarden are the most popular desktop extensions. They’re now available in the Fenix Nighty.

These add-ons are expected to be available in the release version of Firefox for Android in November.
