
Microsoft has released Edge Stable build 84.0.522.40 for Windows and Mac and is progressively rolling out with new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
Highlights:
- Microsoft Edge 84 released on July 16, 2020.
- Supports using the mouse in Full-screen mode. Lets you access address bar, tabs and other items with the mouse
- TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are disabled.
- Add notes support to items in Collections.
- PDF Viewer gains Read Aloud feature for PDFs.
Other changes:
- Edge lets you sign into the browser when you run it as an administrator on Windows 10.
- Allows adding custom nicknames to saved credit or debit cards.
- Supports Storage Access API and Native File System API
- Immersive Reader received the Translation feature.
Edge 84 update like the previous release is being offered via Progressive rollouts, which means you may not get the update right away when you check for updates.
If that’s the case with you, use the steps provided below to obtain an offline installer to upgrade to the latest version of Edge.
1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/download
2. Choose Stable 84, and build as 84.0.522.40, for the Platform, select Windows 64-bit or Windows 32-bit
3. Click the Download button, MSI installer will be download.

It’s worth noting that this Edge update removes the Force color profile flag, which Google is bringing back to Chrome 84 soon as we covered here. So expect Edge to receive the flag with the next updates.
