Last updated on June 11, 2020 By Venkat

Microsoft has started showing “The new browser recommended by Microsoft is here” ad banner on Edge Add-ons Store in Google Chrome and other non-Microsoft web browsers.

For instance, when you visit Chrome Web Store in a non-Chromium browser, which, doesn’t support installing extensions, it shows a dialog on top saying ” You will need Google Chrome to install most apps, extensions and themes” with an option to download the Chrome browser.

When you visit add-ons for Firefox site in Chrome, the store may show a similar message.

We notice today that, Microsoft Edge add-ons Store when visited in Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers, shows a banner on top to download new edge with a message “Get speed, performance, and compatibility with the new Microsoft Edge”.

You can close the banner by clicking on the “No thanks” button.
