
Google Photos app for Android provides two backup options to store your Photos: Original Quality and High Quality. Now to address concerns of users in India having poor WiFi connectivity, Google has started rolling out a third backup option, Express. The option supposed to offer faster backup at reduced resolution. The company says in a blog post Express backup will be useful for users who don’t have proper access to WiFi.

Google Photos Product Manager, Raja Ayyagari announced, they have started rolling out Express backup option to more users in India and by the end of the week, most Android users using the updated version of Photos App will receive the feature. Along with new additional backup option, the company introduced a new data cap option for Photos backup where users can select from 5 MB , 10MB, 30 MB and unlimited.
If you’re living in other countries, hold tight, Raja Ayyagari confirmed they’ll bring Express backup option for Google Photos to another dozen countries (not mentioned their names) slowly.
BTW, in a related news, the Google Photos app updated on March 18, 2019 added a suggested action that allows users to fix lightning of photo with one simple tab.
