Firefox 55.0.1 released

As usual, a dot Firefox release- Firefox 55.0.1– is going to happen, but that has fixed a lot of issues Firefox 55 users are experiencing, hence its worth an upgrade. Seems Mozilla has stopped automatic updates for now. You’re likely to receive the update or know information about version 55.0.1 soon. Meanwhile, here are the issues this version is going to address.

  • Fix a regression the tab restoration process (bug 1388160  -Tabs are all restored as blank frequently after restart of applying Firefox 55 update. Windows 10 (x64))
  • Fix a problem causing What’s new pages not to be displayed (bug 1386224)
  • CRITICAL: Fix a rendering issue with some PKCS#11 libraries (bug 1388370 –  No pages are rendered / Shutdownhang crashes with aetpkss1.dll PKCS#11 module in Firefox 55)
  • Disable the predictor prefetch (bug 1388160)
