How to install the Amazon app on Windows 11 and 10 with Chrome
Chrome turns amazon.com into a windowed app that opens from the taskbar or desktop. It runs without tabs or an address bar.
- Open Chrome and go to amazon.com.
- Select Hello, sign in and sign in to your Amazon account.
- Select More, the three-dot button at the top right.
- Select Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app.
- Rename the app to Amazon if you want, then select Install.
- Right-click the new window’s taskbar icon and select Pin to taskbar.
- Open the app from the Start menu and confirm your account name shows at the top.
Chrome also lists every installed web app at chrome://apps, which is the quickest place to reopen it.
Install the Amazon app on Windows with Microsoft Edge instead of the Store
Edge builds the same windowed app with nothing extra to download. It suits a PC where Chrome is not installed.
- Open Microsoft Edge and go to amazon.com.
- Select Settings and more, the three-dot button at the top right.
- Select More tools, then Apps, then Install this site as an app.
- Name the app and select Install.
- Go to edge://apps and select Details on the Amazon card.
- Select Pin to taskbar or Pin to Start.
A Microsoft Store search for Amazon Shopping returns no app from Amazon. Amazon apps the Store does carry include Amazon Music, Prime Video for Windows and Amazon Kindle, and none of them sells products.

Safari builds a Dock app from amazon.com on macOS Sonoma 14 or later. On older macOS, use Chrome.

To add the Safari app, open amazon.com, choose File > Add to Dock, type a name and click Add. The App Store listing for Amazon Shopping covers iPhone and iPad, and the Mac App Store has no Amazon Shopping app, so the Dock app is the Mac route.
Is the Amazon Shopping app free?
Yes. Every Amazon app download listed here is free. The App Store lists Amazon Shopping as Free, and Google Play installs it at no cost. Both listings flag in-app purchases, which are the products you buy, and Google Play also shows a Contains ads label. Installing amazon.com from a browser costs nothing either. Prime is a separate membership and is not needed to install or use any of the apps.
Any site asking money for an Amazon installer is selling a file Amazon does not publish.
Should you use the Amazon phone app or the desktop app?
Use the desktop app for browsing and checkout, and install the phone app too if you want alerts and camera search. How to check an Amazon app download is genuine
Store search results mix Amazon’s app with third-party shopping tools that use the Amazon name. Check the publisher before you tap install.
- On Google Play, confirm the name under the title reads Amazon Mobile LLC.
- On the App Store, confirm Seller reads AMZN Mobile LLC.
- On a PC or Mac, confirm the address bar shows amazon.com before you install the page as an app.
- Right-click any .exe or .msi that claims to be the Amazon app, open Properties, then Digital Signatures, and delete it if Amazon is not the signer.

The desktop app has no version number. It loads the current amazon.com every time it opens.

The Amazon Appstore is gone from Windows 11
Starting 5 March 2025, Windows Subsystem for Android and the Amazon Appstore aren’t available in the Microsoft Store.
- Stop searching the Store for the Amazon Appstore or the Android version of Amazon Shopping.
- Install amazon.com as a desktop app in Edge or Chrome instead.
- Use the Android app on a phone or tablet from Google Play.
Chrome will not install on the PC
Chrome needs Windows 10 or later on Intel processors and Windows 11 on ARM.

Safari web apps need macOS Sonoma 14 or later.

How to uninstall the Amazon app from a PC, Mac or phone
Removing the desktop app removes a window and a shortcut. Your Amazon account, orders and lists stay untouched.
- In Chrome, open the Amazon app window, select More, then Uninstall, and select Remove.
- Tick Also delete data from Chrome first to clear what the app stored.
- In Edge, go to edge://apps, select Details on the Amazon card, then Uninstall, and confirm with Uninstall again.
