Fix GOG GALAXY not installing, updating or opening
GOG GALAXY fails to update or the installer stops
Old GOG GALAXY processes are still running.
- Close GOG GALAXY from the cogwheel menu in the top-left corner.
- Press Windows + R, type taskmgr and press Enter.
- On the Details tab, right-click each entry starting with GOG GALAXY and select End task.
- Run the web installer from gog.com/galaxy and install to the same folder to overwrite the old files. Your games and data stay in place.
Error E3: failed to connect to GOG.com servers
A firewall or antivirus blocks the client.
- Check that your internet connection works.
- Add C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG GALAXY\GalaxyClient.exe to your antivirus and firewall exception lists.
- Add GalaxyClientService.exe from the same folder and C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyCommunication.exe too.
- Restart GOG GALAXY.
Error E4 or E8: disk access error or not enough free disk space
Missing folder permissions, security software or a full drive.
- Free up space on the target drive, or select a different drive for the game.
