Opera Software continues to improve its Video Pop-Out feature and Snapshot tool. To the latest, the company made video pop out automatic in Opera 83 stable when users switch to another tab. Opera also added a Meme generator to Snapshot to make it more fun and enjoyable.
Automatic Video Pop Out
Opera introduced Video Pop-out a lot of time back. The company recently made the feature automated by avoiding the need to pop out the video manually by clicking the icon.
If users navigate to another tab while a video is playing, the video pops out and displays in the mini and always resizable window. When the user returns to the original tab its pops back again.
This experience is good and helps multitaskers. But this may turn into unwanted annoyance to your workflow also, here is how you can disable it.
Disable Automatic Video pop put in Opera
- Launch Opera browser
- Click on the Opera menu icon and select Settings
- Click Advanced, scroll down to Video pop out
- Toggle switch for “Automatically pop put videos when possible”

Opera makes the pop out window transparent, just toggle the respective setting if you want to see it in action.
Meme generator built into the Snapshot tool
Opera browser comes with Screenshot feature included in Snapshot tool. Opera now allows use it to create Memes for fun and share to pinboards or social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Here is how to create memes with the Snapshot tool in Opera
- Visit a webpage for which you want to add Memes,
- Click on the camera icon in the address bar
- Use the mouse pointer to draw and select the region on-screen to snap or “capture full screen” with the option provided on top.
- In the “Edit Snapshot” window, click on Meme, choose the color, font and enter the text you want to display on Meme.
Meme generator - Click on the tick mark once you completed making changes, you can then save the image and share or “Add to pinboards” with the button displayed.
These features are available in Opera 83.0.4254.19 or later.
