As Firefox Preview 2.0 already released and available on Play Store, Mozilla has also published Nightly version of Firefox Preview for Android to the Store and is available to advanced users and developers for testing. With next Firefox for Android codenamed “Fenix” already in Preview, expect Nightly to be highly unstable and should not be recommended for daily usage.
The Nightly version allows to clear browsing data on exit, the setting “delete browsing data on quit” can be seen in Settings, you can activate the toggle and choose which data to delete from Open tabs, Browsing history, Cookies, Cached images and files, and Site Permissions.
And the important, Enhanced Tracking Protection which we discussed before now available and comes with Standard and Strict modes, with latter is enabled by default in Nightly.
This version blocks Video and audio autoplay by default, you can allow the autoplay of media by visiting Settings > Site Permissions > Autoplay > “Video and Audio allowed”.
Firefox Preview Nightly offers an option in Settings to open links in a private tab. For this, tap on three vertical dots icon and select Settings, turn on “launch links in a Private tab”. From now on, any links you tap will be opened in Private browsing mode.
Download Firefox Preview Nightly for Developers from the Play Store.
