Internet knows Google+ will be dead after April 2, 2019, as company announced they’ll begin deleting consumer accounts and their pages from that date onwards, we’re already seeing the notifications informing this on G+ pages, now add one more to that, the company has started sending Search console message to webmasters to remove Google+ integrations from their websites, and warns failing to do so may cause potential effect on website layout and functionality.
When Google+ was announced, most sites embedded +1 button and links to G+ pages they created on social site to promote their branding, now company letting webmasters who have Google+ code integrated via +1 buttons, follow buttons and Hangouts and Share buttons, badges and interactive posts, know they’ll stop working on March 7, 2019, and suggests to remove them asap.
A webmaster who received such warning shared on Twitter:
“Google has announced Google+ for Consumers will be sunset. As part of Sunset, all Google+ web integrations will stop serving on March 07, 2019. This has the potential to affect website layouts and/or functionality if no action is taken by website owners.”
“Developers are strongly advised to remove the related code from their websites as soon as possible”. We’ve already done this and alerted followers to visit twitter or facebook page to continue to receive updates, hope you’ll do the same.
Have you received the message?
