Windows 11 Preview builds come to the beta channel after been available to insiders in the dev Channel. Microsoft is offering the same build 22000.100 that was released last week. However, Microsoft Teams Chat isn’t included. The company also suggests switching to Beta to get stable builds, here is how you can switch from Dev to Beta in Windows 11 insider program without doing a clean install.

- You can switch from Dev to Beta channel without doing a reinstall. Generally, you need to reinstall Windows to come out of the Dev channel.
- Chat from Microsoft Teams not present. Microsoft promises to enable it in the Beta channel in the coming weeks.
Windows 11 Preview builds released so far are pretty stable till now, but you shouldn’t take a chance even when running on beta. Take a backup before testing and don’t run a preview build on the work machine.
How to Switch from Windows 11 Dev to Beta Channel
If you’re already registered for Windows 11 insider Program
- Visit Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program
- Click on “Choose your Insider Settings“
- Select “Beta Channel”
You don’t even need to reboot the system to switch between the channels.
In case you don’t know, Microsoft tends to release preview build once a week to the Dev channel.
Beta builds are tied to specific releases, for instance, the current build is tied to 21H2.

i have the option for changing the channels but the options are grayed out meaning i m not able to sellect them i there anything i can do to prevent taht?
