After getting the ability to save screenshots to Collections, Microsoft now has removed Smart Copy from the Page Context menu and added it into Web Capture in the Edge Canary. Here is how you can use or test the change in the Canary version.
Smart Copy feature was built into Edge.
As the name implies, it allows easy to copy and paste content from the web such as tables and text with images into documents and Windows Clipboard. The rich formatting will be preserved after pasting.
Smart Copy can be enabled in Edge either by using the Ctrl+Shift+X option or by selecting the option available on the Page right-click menu.
We noticed the option no longer present in the context menu or invokes Web Capture when you press the Keyboard shortcut in the latest Edge Canary 92.0.880.0.
From now on, to use Smart Copy in Edge, you either have to press the Ctrl+Shift+X shortcut or click on the Web Capture icon on the toolbar (Ctrl+Shift+S) and need to select Smart Copy.
Microsoft tests a new Setting in Edge to Turn off all Vertical Tabs
Microsoft recently started testing the Tab Actions menu in place of the Vertical Tabs button.
Left-click on it allows to turn on Vertical Tabs, open recently closed add all tabs to the new collection.
But with this, it requires more steps to turn off vertical Tabs in the Edge browser.
To address this, Microsoft is testing a single setting “Turn off vertical tabs on all browser windows” to toggle the feature.
You can find the new setting in Appearance Settings under Customize toolbar.
