Till now Microsoft has published a few Extensions and themes for Edge Chromium to its add-ons store. Recently Redmond giant has released two extensions related to finding shared Links named Links Recall History and Links Recall Omnibox and are available for download.
The aim of extensions is to save time by showing all shared links on the History page that replaces the new Tab and by searching in the address bar.
Links Recall History Edge Extension
What you need to know:
- You may send or share links or receive links via email, apps, chat messages, and social platforms.
- Remembering or re-finding those links in Edge is a difficult task. It takes your precious time and energy also.
Microsoft made a thought about it and released the Links Recall History extension.
The extension when installed replaces New Tab Page with the Edge History page.
Note: Edge immediately disables the extension as it changes New Tab Page, you’ve to re-enable it.
At the time of writing, the extension is not working as advertised as real Shared links aren’t displayed by extension.
The history page works alright. It displays your Edge all browsing history since Last week, yesterday and today.
Microsoft has plans to make the extension native feature in Edge.
“This extension is aimed to provide the power of being able to find shared links in History page and play with it and collect user feedback before we implement it natively in Edge.”
Links Recall Omnibox extension
This extension helps to see recently accessed links in the address bar.
After installing the extension,
- type “links” in the address bar and press space or tab
- Write the query or keywords for links you wish to discover
The extension prompts you to sign in to the Work account, you may ignore that.
