Firefox Nightly did get some progress since we covered new design mockups, tabs, and hamburger menu on Proton design, here are the things worth exploring now if you’re following upcoming Firefox UI changes.
Nothing to say in regards to tabs though, no changes there, but we have a new application menu and the New Tab Page has undergone a UI overhaul to see.
Firefox’s main menu undergoes changes
The Firefox menu has been streamlined, while some options have been renamed, some are omitted
What you need to know about the Firefox new Menu:
- Sign in to Firefox, Protections dashboard, Library and Customize are not present
- Logins and Passwords, Add-ons, and options were renamed to Passwords, Extensions and Themes and Settings
- Bookmarks and Downloads have been made available for access in the dropdown menu.
Note: The current design may not be final but we expect the menu to change slightly from hereon.
Personalize Firefox New Tab Page
The new New Tab Page lets you access NTP settings without the need to visit options through Personalize option on the top right of the page.
To customize NTP to your liking, click on Personalize and use the options that appear in a dropdown menu.
And to see the New Tab Page developed by Mozilla
- Launch Firefox
- Visit about: config
- Change browser.
newtabpage. activity-stream. newNewtabExperience. enabled pre-value to true - Restart the Firefox browser.
