Recently we’ve covered Microsoft added Text highlighting feature to Chromium Edge, now the company has updated the immersive Reader or Reader View feature’s Text Preferences with more color options for page themes (available for some users via controlled feature rollouts feature). With this change and Grammar tools availability behind flags, it seems Microsoft has completely brought classic Edge Reader View features to Chromium Edge.
Beginning from the launching of the Microsoft Edge Insider program, the Redmond software giant has started adding Classic Edge’s features one by one to its new Edge browser.
For instance. we’ve recently covered the addition of legacy Edge’s fullscreen feature, text highlighting in PDFs, now after adding Text Preferences and Grammer Tools to Reader View, today with the latest Microsoft Edge Canary update, the company added more colors to page themes to change page background color while in Reading View.
To see the changes in action, launch latest Edge Canary build or 80.0.351.0 or later,
Visit any webpage, click on the immersive reader icon to notice ribbon with “Read aloud” and Text Preferences where the latter has the new features added, click on it to see the changes. The addition of more colors to Page themes could be A/B testing and may not available to you.
