Vivaldi has announced user profiles support in version 2.4 in their blog post and is enabled by default for Windows, Mac, Linux platforms with additional new features and fixes to regressions found in the previous snapshot.
We’ve reported user profiles and guest browsing support in Vivaldi is available behind Vivaldi://experiments page for testing in Snapshot version where you need to visit the aforementioned page and enable experimental User profile management feature, this no longer required in the latest snapshot.
Google Chrome and Firefox have multiple user profiles support since ages, Vivaldi technologies added it recently. Why you need a browser that should support the creation of separate profiles?
- One reason is privacy, you don’t want to share your browsing history with other people using your computer.
- Each profile has different extensions, speed dials, bookmarks, history, cookies etc.
- You can create different profiles for you for your work and home and for your family members also.
- New persons can use the guest window to browse stuff
- Respected desktop shortcuts will be created for each person when you create a new profile, for instance, if you create another profile in Vivaldi, by default, ‘Person 2’ user will be created and the shortcut will be available on the desktop for access.

If you’ve used Chrome, you’re already familiar with Profiles stuff and no introduction is needed. However check the below article in detail, if you’re don’t know where to start and remember you no longer need to visit experiments page to activate users profiles its enabled by default.
If you’re only user using Vivaldi, at present its not possible to remove profile icon from toolbar as feature is hard enabled and can’t be disabled, and has no effect on Vivaldi when you visit experiments page and uncheck ‘User profile management’ opion.
