As usual, a dot release has been planned to fix issues found in Firefox 51. Apparently, in version 51, Geolocation isn’t working, Mozilla will anytime release Firefox 51.0.1 to address this, which could also come with fixes to other issues discovered by the Firefox team.
By this time, if you’re using version 51, visit this Gelocation live example link (Mozilla’s), scroll down until you see ‘Live Result’, under it, click ‘Show my location’, give the permission, as shown in the screenshot Firefox shows ‘unable to retrieve your location’ error. You’ll receive an update when the company publishes the version and you can also able to download the same from Mozilla Firefox site when available.

Firefox 51.0.1 has been removed from Mozilla Firefox release directory (https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/), now that I’ve installed it when it was available (2017-25-01-20:35GMT).
What are they up to? This is the first time I see a version removed from Mozilla Firefox’s release directory.
Until you get the update or available on Mozilla website its not certain or we need to take it granted that it will be shipped. They might pull one and add another one. Don’t worry! dot release will happen, you don’t need to uninstall your Firefox browser now, can you check and confirm Geolocation issue mentioned in the article was fixed or not on your end.

Less worried than surprised actually. I know a final release can happen to be modified from that available first on Mozilla’s release directories, but removed is really a surprise and very first time I notice it (after years ‘n’ years!).

Sorry, forgot the geolocation issue you ask me to confirm with FF51.0.1 — Point is I disable geolocation and I’m not feeling disposed to enable it for testing only…

Firefox 53.0 geolocation is not working. Either I get a position way off or I get “Location information is not available”. Tried this both on Win7 and Ubuntu16.04.
Chrome on Ubuntu is working correctly.
IE on Win7 gives a position way off.
On which sites geolocation is not working? Resetting Firefox could help.
