Whenever you play a video on YouTube, IDM shows a ‘Download this video’ button – this is called download panel-you can click on it to download the video to your computer . If the download panel is not appearing when the videos are playing in Chrome and you’ve not turned it off in IDM Settings, then here is what you need to do for it to visible again.
Update May 21, 2017: Since Chrome Plugins page has been removed, the below instructions won’t be useful. Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. Ensure you’re using the latest IDM version, and Google Chrome & Advanced browser integration are checked in General preferences of IDM.
1 .Visit chrome://extensions page by clicking on menu > More tools > Extensions
2. Drag and drop IDMGCExt.crx from IDM directory onto Chrome extensions page for installing.
And confirm IDM extension is enabled after installation. That will fix the issue.

Fixing IDM is not showing Download this video Panel in Chrome

2. Select ‘Always allowed’ under ‘Internet Download Manager plugin.
Note: Before trying the above fix, do the following.
Fix IDM Setup’s Error ‘Could Not create process in unpacker Access is denied. ‘
Open IDM > Options > General, click on ‘Edit’ for ‘Customize Download panel in browsers’ and ensure on ‘For Web Players’ tab and ensure all file types are selected and don’t capture downloads from web-players automatically shouldn’t be checked.

what if I don’t see a plug-in for idman in the chrome plug-in page?
I got you, with latest version of Chrome and IDM, that plugin is not appearing, all I can say now is ensure you’re now using the latest version of Internet Download manager, as I can still see the download panel on Youtube videos.
Plzzz help me I have been trying to get download option in almost all of d browsers but it isn’t working..it’s working on YouTube videos but not on my choice which are playing on the screen..I tried almost all ways as u all have mentioned but yet left me with nothing..I did all Extensions…. Instead of showing download option i.e “download this video”it’s showing “download this media” which is merely there in kbs while the actual file size is of 600-700mbs range….plzzzzz tell me I had purchased idm of lifetime licence from Amazon …only to get my videos downloaded …plz tell me frds I have fed up and frustrated trying it out daily.😐…sir plz reply
Why don’t you uninstall and freshly reinstall IDM and see it solves your problem.
It is still not working… I have integrated the “.crx” file into Google Chrome, I can see it on the extension page, but the button still does not appear. Why is that?
IDM is just not showing over youtube videos, else its working fine.
May’ll fix by Tonec or hackers find any way to integrate into youtube videos.

If all is fine, reinstall IDM.
I followed all the above instructions and suggestions. This is what worked for me: I opened the Chrome menu bar, Settings, Extensions; then IDM Integration Module, (Enabled was already checked), I checked “Allow access to file URLs. That last part allowed the IDM download panel to appear when playing You Tube videos.

in internet download manager go to :
Options > General, click on ‘Edit’ for ‘Customize Download panel in browsers and sheck “show download panel for protected contents internet download manager can’t download”
that is the only way it worked for me

Have you checked all file types are selected for web players, check the picture and instructions in the article.
Some useful tips:
1. Check your IDM version and chrome IDM extension. for example, you should utilize version 6.32 for both of them.
2. If your chrome version is 70 or upper, you can add an IDM extension to chrome through the following link without involved to zipping and unzipping process to load unpack extension because in this version you could not drag and drop IDM extension.

Hi,
IDM download panel is not appearing when I play online video on some particular websites. However it appears and grab YouTube videos and videos on some other websites. I have latest versions of IDM and browsers installed. I tried reinstalling my Windows and all other softwares a couple of times but the problem is not going away. Surprising part is I used to download videos from one specific website through IDM but now it’s not working. I can figure out what is wrong there now.
