
Public Beta for Service Pack 2 of Office 2010 has been released by Microsoft and is available for download for testing via their Connect site. You need to log into connect site with Microsoft account username and password to grab either 32- bit or 64-bit version for download.
Though the latest version Microsoft officially offers is Office 2013 if you’re still using Office 2010 SP1 on your computer which was released in June 2011, let me tell you beta of SP2 is now available.
What’s new in Office 2010 Service Pack 2
“ In addition to general product fixes, these fixes include improvements in stability, performance, and security as well as compatibility with Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Internet Explorer 10. The service pack beta also includes all the public updates and cumulative updates (hotfixes) that have been released since Service Pack 1” reads Office 2010 and SharePoint Service Pack 2 Beta Read me file.
You can expect Microsoft to reveal all list of fixes when the final version releases.
You can download Microsoft Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 from here. After signing into “Connect” you need to choose Accept from drop down menu and need to enter your full name to proceed, these are mandatory steps.
Office 2010 SP2 Expiration date: This Service pack 2 may expire on December 31, 2013 which falls on Tuesday or when Microsoft releases the final version, latter could be preferred by Microsoft.
