While old Microsoft Edge’s “Set Tabs Aside” feature is not yet available in Chromium Edge, we’ve noticed the new Edge stable hints in the tab context menu that you can find tabs you’ve set aside in Favorites. As we said the feature is not yet available in the new Edge browser, what happened here is the stable version of Edge when installed has brought all groups of tabs you’ve set aside in old Edge to favorites page for you to access.

Legacy version of Microsoft Edge has a tab management feature built-in: if you’ve many tabs open, to declutter the tab strip and without need to save current pages as favorites, you can set some tabs aside by clicking on the icon that appears in the left corner of the Edge browser. By clicking on another icon you can able to see the preview of tabs you’ve set aside so far and restore whichever tabs you want.
Microsoft already announced it is working to bring Set tabs aside feature to Edge Chromium. If you now install Edge Stable and launch it upon installation you’ll notice a new option in tab context menu mentioning “Find tabs you’ve set aside in “Favorites” ” if you right-click on a tab.
This option leads you to edge://favorites page where it informs the user that ” You currently can’t set tabs aside in (new) Microsoft Edge”, however, on this page, you can able to see and expand tab group(s) and perform tasks such as opening or deleting on certain tabs.
