After installing the July Patch Tuesday update in Windows 10 2004, some users are reporting that Notepad is missing.
Yesterday, Microsoft has released Cumulative Update KB455503 (19041.388) to Windows 10 2004 and is available for download via Windows Update. Microsoft claims the update comes with various bug fixes and improvements.

There are reports on Reddit and a Windows 10 forum that users are missing Notepad after installing the July update.
It’s worth noting that Microsoft has made Notepad, Microsoft Paint, and Wordpad as optional features in Windows 10 May 2020 Update, and they can be installed and uninstalled by visiting Apps in Settings App.
A user on Reddit posted in two threads [1] [2] saying he lost Notepad and Paint after updating to build 19041.388, he expressed doubt the update might have removed them.
Another user on a forum too shared the same experience and says he couldn’t install the Windows Notepad app available on the Store.
“Hi All
Since this new cumulative update for 2004 Tues 14 July- My Notepad has gone missing. Had a look in Apps it not there and Microsoft Store – Windows notepad can’t install it button not working.”
Note: Notepad App on Store requires you to be using Windows 10 build 19541.0 or higher.
These affected users can visit Settings > Apps >Apps & Features >Optional features and reinstall Notepad and Paint.

Are you affected? Can you able to open Notepad?
