When you try to open Start Menu in Windows 10 2004, the Search box may appear over it making the accessing start menu difficult, here is how to fix if you’re facing this issue.
Windows 10 versions prior to 2004 used to support a floating immersive search bar. The hidden feature can be enabled by making changes to the registry.
In Windows 10 May 2020 Update, Cortana and Search box have been separated and the latest Windows 10 version no longer supports the immersive search bar.
If you’ve enabled the feature before or after upgrading to version 2004, pressing the Win key opens the Search box with the Start menu behind it.
The issue has been faced by a user and he reported on Reddit seeking for help saying
As I press the Windows key, I expect the start menu to open up showing the tiles, and as I type it should search for programs or files.
But after the recent 2004 update, it opens the search box on the top of the start menu, with just one window key press. I can’t access the start menu tiles as they are always behind the search window.
Please help If there is a fix for this issue
