New Microsoft Edge does not contain ‘Set aside tabs’ feature from Microsoft Edge legacy, now you can add it to the new Edge and Chrome browsers by installing an extension available on Chrome and Edge add-on Stores.
The previous version of the Edge browser allows you to set all open tabs aside by clicking on the icon on the left, you can restore and check back them later whenever you want, this clears the tab clutter and you won’t lose the open tabs.
Microsoft is still undecided about bringing the tab groups feature to the new Edge, meanwhile, you can push tabs aside in Chrome and Edge Chromium browsers by installing ‘Tabs Aside’ extension.
Tabs Aside Extension for Edge and Chrome
Using the extension is pretty straight forward.
1.Install the extension in Chrome or Edge from here and here
2. Click on the Tabs Aside icon
3. Click on ‘Set current tabs aside’.
4. The tabs will vanish as if you’ve closed them, click on the extension icon, and click the ‘Restore tab’s button for tabs that you want to see again.
By clicking the menu next to Restore tabs, you can able to reopen tabs without removing and can bookmark or favorite the aside tabs. Currently, share tabs functionality is not working in Edge and Chrome doesn’t support that feature.
The extension is open-source, supports dark mode, and lets you ‘restore one tab from collection without removing’.
