Microsoft Edge 79 stable: rename Title of Tiles, Change News language and location on New Tab Page

Microsoft has finally launched Edge Chromium 79 stable last week for Windows and macOS. Currently, new Edge is available for manually download, in the coming weeks it will be available to all users of Windows 10 via Windows Update. The ability to change the title of tiles and language/location for News on New Tab Page is now available in all channels including stable.

To change a site”s title on the new tab in Edge Stable, hover over a tile’s ellipsis icon, click on it and select “Rename” and click “Save” once done.

New Edge browser by default provides news on a new tab based on your location. For instance, if you’re living in India, NTP Provides news tailored to India in English, you can change your location and language for news feed, here is how.

Open the new tab and click on the gear icon to notice the “Change language & Content” option under Custom, select a Country/Language for Edge to serve related news content.

Microsoft Edge 81 dev receives an update

In other news related to Edge, after releasing Microsoft Edge stable, Redmond Software giant has pushed the first update to Edge Dev with new features, improvements and bug fixes. “Microsoft Edge Dev 81.0.396.0” build is now available via update and for manual download to Edge insiders. Though this is a minor update, the build has got the following new features:

  • Added a dialog to warn users when they’re visiting a website that uses out-of-date security settings
  • Added a setting to enable or disable automatic profile switching
  • Added support for extensions inside the Application guard Windows.
  • Added a dialog to warn users when they sign into a browser profile with a different account than they previously used to sign into the same profile.
