Microsoft wants their Edge browser based on Chromium to look different when compared with Chrome, the company is taking care so that it won’t be called as Chrome clone. In the latest Microsoft Edge insider Canary, MS is testing a new design for clear browsing data dialog where they list all items in one go without the need to switch between basic and advanced tabs to select items.
Enable Edge’s new Clear browsing data dialog
1. Ensure you’re using latest Canary channel (version number 76.0.161.0) that follows OS theme, visit edge:/flags page
2. Find “Microsoft Edge Clear browsing data dialog” flag (edge://flags/#edge-clear-browsing-data-redesign)
3. Select Enabled and restart the Edge browser.
Now use Ctrl+Shift+Del or load edge://settings/clearBrowserData or
click on Settings and more (…), select Settings > Privacy and services > Clear browsing data, click “Clear history, cookies, password and more”
You can notice clear browsing data dialog now without basic and advanced tabs from the previous design. With the new design, Edge brought all items in one place instead of offering in separate tabs.
These basic items -The browsing history, download history, Cookies and other site data and Cache image and files -are per-selected by default, where Advanced browsing history items such as Passwords, Autofill form data (includes forms and cards), site permissions and Hosted App data are unchecked and left to user to review and select before clearing browsing data.
