Fix Windows 10 Setup’s ‘Something happened’ Error Message
1. Right click on the tool and select run as administrator, you won’t get that error
2. If that doesn’t help, try this: This error can trigger if the downloaded Windows 10 setup files (which created on the initial running of the tool) locale and language settings are different to your system’s.
To fix this, check your system’s ‘locale and language settings are set to ‘English (United States)’.
For this, type ‘intl.cpl’ in Run command dialog and press enter. Once Region dialog opens, click on Administrative > Change system locale: and select ‘English (United States) from the drop down.
Tip: We can’t confirm this, but is worth a try, if the setup dialog doesn’t appear or fails within Windows after running the tool, to resume or restart the setup, visit C:\$Windows.~WS folder and click on ‘setup’ to begin the process.
