
Beta for next version 3.0 of Rainmeter has been released and available from its homepage for testing. All skins that ran on older versions will work on Rainmeter 3.0 beta version too, users can install this version on top of existing version without need of uninstallation. Rainmeter is an open-source application that lets you customize Windows desktop by running skins, these skins shows useful information at a glance on desktop regarding system resources, emails, RSS feeds and weather forecasts.
Developer says in 3.0 release to mainly focus on “migration from an older graphics rendering method to newer and more powerful Direct2D API’s. The initial goal will be vastly improved rendering and display of fonts in String meters. This change is initially optional and opt-in, but we hope people will try it out and provide feedback and help with tracking down any issues”.

- [Fixed] Image Meter: Fixed an issue where an image meter controlled by a Substitute on a measure could error with "Unable to open" in some cases.
- [Added] Skins: Added OnWakeAction to [Rainmeter] to take action when Windows returns from sleep or hibernate states.
