Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer behind a flag got a big upgrade recently. PDF Viewer with a completely new interface shows Table of Contents and allows to view a PDF in a two-page layout, and supports annotations. In addition to these features, Google has today added an option to view PDF in full screen to Chrome 89 Canary.

To see a PDF in Fullscreen or Presentation Mode in Chrome
- Launch Chrome browser
- Visit chrome://flags page
- Enable the following flags
“PDF Viewer Update”
“PDF Viewer Presentation Mode”

- Restart the browser
- Load any PDF from web or hard drive, click on the three-dot icon on the toolbar and select “Full screen”

Chrome now renders the PDF in full-screen mode.
There is a difference between the PDF full screen you see when you press F11 and when you select the full-screen option on the toolbar overflow menu.
With the presentation mode,
- Toolbar, scrollbar, and sidebar doesn’t appear
- Certain user gestures such as zooming in/out don’t work.
- You can still able to navigate to the next/previous page using left/right arrows
- Rotate clockwise/counterclockwise options will be disabled
Chrome now allows to view PDFs in full screen, What do you say about this? Let us know in the comments below.
