Extension Adds ‘Scroll to Text Fragment’ feature to Firefox

The newly available ‘Auto Find Text Fragment’ extension for Firefox makes it possible to link to specific text on a web page and the selected text will be scrolled and highlighted automatically when you visit or click that URL in Firefox and other Chromium browsers.

Google has built the Scroll to text fragment feature for the Chromium browser and is already using it for featured snippets on its search results.

Text fragment link created by Extension Firefox

With the help of recently released Link to Text Fragment extension, you can link to the particular text on the web page, and when you share or open that link in a new tab, browser scrolls to the text and highlights it. The extension works in Chrome, new Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium browsers.

Mozilla has some objections to implementing the text fragment links feature in the Firefox browser.

Worry not! now an extension available on AMO mimics ” Google Chrome’s #.~: text fragment “scroll to text” behavior ” in Firefox and it auto-creates text fragment link when you select a string of words and click the extension icon, the link works and opens in Chromium browsers also.
