Microsoft Edge allows users to search for selected text on Bing, the results will be displayed on the same page in a pane on the right side. Seems, Microsoft is expanding the Sidebar Search feature in Edge to images also. Edge Dev 92 currently makes it possible to search for images in the sidebar.
Microsoft replaced Edge Legacy’s Ask Cortana in the new Edge with a search in the sidebar feature.
Of course, the feature including the context menu option –search Bing in the sidebar — work and appear only when you use Bing as the Search engine in the Edge browser.
Bing comes as the default search engine in Microsoft Edge.
But crosscheck, your Edge has Bing added as a search engine by visiting Settings > Privacy, search and services > Services > address bar and search.
How to do Bing sidebar Search for images on Microsoft Edge
The image context menu provides search the web for image option and provides Image results, pages containing the image, text extracted from image, as well as related content in a new tab in Edge browser.
Almost the same information can be fetched and displayed by Bing in Edge in the sidebar when you right-click on an image and select “Search in sidebar for image“.

There could be a possibility that Microsoft could bring search in the sidebar for videos also in near future, we never know.
But the current addition is unannounced and came as surprise.
Bonus: In case you don’t know, Windows 10 search allows you to “search with Screenshot”.
The option when selected, Snip & Sketch opens for the user to grab the screen. The image will be uploaded to Bing and similar image results will be displayed in Edge in a new tab. Bing calls this “Visual Search”.
