Chrome is getting Picture In Picture Feature

Opera has Video Pop Out feature, which Chrome doesn’t have, but till version 54, Chromium has allowed users to get that feature by installing Panels based extensions. But the Panels flag has been removed in Chrome 54 and the extension functions relied were redundant now.

There is a flag ‘Enable Picture in Picture‘ available in dev and canary versions of Chrome for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms, which does nothing when you activate, but there is more behind the addition of flag, Google is actually working on adding Picture In Picture to Chrome browser, visit this github page for more information.

This is what the Abstract of the specification says” “This specification intends to provide APIs to allow websites to create a floating video window over other windows so that users may continue consuming media while they interact with other content, sites, or applications on their device.”
