
Threshold 2 aka November Update has been delivered to Windows 10 users, if you’ve installed this update, you’ll notice the back of Scan with Windows defender Context menu option. When you install 3rd party antivirus, this (Windows defender’s) scan option will still be shown up on the context menu, if you don’t want your Context Menu to be bloated with unnecessary menu items, then you can remove this with a registry trick, here is how you can do that, don’t fear! You can easily restore it later if you want.

1 .Type regedit in Run dilaog box and press enter
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID.
3. Use ‘Find’ option in Edit menu in Registry Editor to find this key: {09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}
4. Right click on this key and select Export, after taking backup of this key to computer, right click on the same key again and select ‘Delete‘.
5. Exit the Registry Editor, you’ll notice the change immediately without restarting system.
To Restore Scan with Windows Defender context menu item, run the registry backup file we’ve created earlier.
