Apart from the upgraded virus engine and enhanced malware removal, the only change Avira 2016 version got when compared to Avira 2015 is the addition of PUA shield to Browser Safety extension, which identifies and blocks potentially unwanted application downloads in download portals and recommends secure alternatives.

Avira 2016 seems to be working fine with Windows 10 build 10586 (Threshold 2)
Recently we’ve reported Avira crashes the Windows 10 Store by flagging Store dll file as a threat, seems the issue has been resolved and Avira Free Antivirus 2016 has behaved fine so far when Windows Store was running on our Windows 10 November update installed machine.
