How to find Vivaldi browser’s installed location or path on your computer

Know Vivaldi executable and profile paths. On Windows, Google Chrome browser now gets installed to Program Files by default (previously to Appdata folder). Recently, Opera co-founder has launched Vivaldi browser, it is attracting old Opera users with Opera 12 features. If you don’t know, Chromium based Vivaldi browser will be installed to Appdata folder on Windows.

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application.

Executable Path:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe

Profile Path:  C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default

Update: To open Vivaldi Profile folder, enter this in Explorer or in Run dialog

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi\User Data\Default

Visiting Vivaldi://about page reveals the above information.

How knowing these could be useful?

  1. When you miss Vivaldi shortcut on desktop, you can then navigate to that location and create a desktop shortcut from the executable on the desktop.
  2. To fix a corrupted browser profile, you can delete ‘Default’ folder in UserData, which creates a create a new profile.
