Get a visual Bookmark manager for Chrome. Till now Google has been working on ‘Google Stars’, a bookmarking extension for Chrome, it is now available on the Chrome Web Store with the name Bookmark Manger. If you’re an Opera (Chromium-based) user, you’ll be familiar with this as Opera has integrated Bookmark manager that offers visual bookmarks, where Chrome has been offered it as an extension.
Official Chrome bookmark Manager extension
Features and usage
"Chrome Bookmarks and the Bookmarks Manager are now more powerful by incorporating the smarts of Google Search with a new modern UI."
After installing the extension, when you bookmark a page using the star button, a thumbnail or image will be automatically added to that, you can add a note and assign it to a folder.
Finding bookmarks in bookmark manager more easier with the search powered by Google
The Search function in Bookmark manager has been improved, it now lets you find the page you’re looking for in bookmarks with the Google Search, it also searches for the bookmark title and snippet, and also the bookmarked page’s content.
Your bookmarks are automatically organized by topic by Google, if you don’t want auto-folders to be created for your bookmarks you can organize them into folders by yourself.
Your existing bookmarks will automatically get updated with images and descriptions, wherever possible.
Sharing bookmark folders
You can share a folder containing bookmarks with your friends online through the ‘Share this folder’ button offered within the folders, to share a folder, it must be set to public.
Opera 26 developer is here with Bookmarks Sharing Feature
With sync enabled for a signed in users, synced bookmarks are available across all of your devices.
Note: For some features – better search, auto folders and images added to the bookmarks – to work, you need to sign into Chrome.
Better you should install this extension on Chrome stable channel, but not on the developer or canary as it not worked for us on them.
Your take
Opera is offering this bookmark Manager natively in their browser, Chrome makes it optional through an extension, what do you say? Don’t you think this should’ve been offered by default in Chrome browser? Let us know your opinions on this in the comments.
Bookmark Manager is crap. Can you tell me how to remove it? It’s not showing up in extensions or in Programs. I can’t figure out how to turn it off or remove it.
It should be found in Chrome://extensions page, try resetting all flags to defaults by visiting Chrome://flags page, if that doesn’t work, try resetting Chrome.
NO !
Once again, things are going wrong and I now cannot access bookmarks as used to be the case.
Neither is there the option mentioned in my flags page…there is another option…that doesn`t give me the old bookmark options whichever option is enabled or disabled.
Just WHY google needs to consistently break what works AND is what users want is an ANNOYING mystery.

I already gave my reply to that question in the comment, check above, visit about:flags and click on ‘Reset all falgs to default’, restart the browser. Visit Chrome://extensions page, you can see Bookmark manager extension installed there, you can remove it from there, if that doesn’t work reset Chrome browser. Has that helped you?
