Upgrading VLC
Recently improved VLC installer has made upgrading lot more simpler, when setup detects older version of VLC during install, it offers two options: ‘Upgrade VLC using previous settings(recommended)’ and ‘Change settings (advanced)’.
Selecting former retains your previous VLC settings and latter is the one that lets you customize install where you can select components for install and uncheck the ones you don’t need- FYI when the second option is selected settings of your older version of media player won’t be carried forward.
