
Avira has officially released its 2014 line of products –Avira Free Antivirus 2014, Avira Antivirus Suite 2014 and Avira Internet Security 2014. Though there are new features offered for free AV, good news for users is Avira’s free AV this time came without notifier and security vendor is offering 5GB of free Storage space in its Secure Backup service.
Avira says goodbye to notifier
Avira free AV which shows Notifier ads for users not installed Avira SearchFree toolbar to buy their premium security products no longer will be displayed from this version onwards. If you want to see them again? they’re offering option for that on their AV help menu. You need to select show notifier again from Help menu.
5GB of free space in Avira Secure Backup can be gained by you by installing Secure Backup separately on your computer. After that, you need to create an account to grab that space.

- Avira SearchFree toolbar if installed offers Browser Tracking Blocker and Website Safety Advisor features, these two features are introduced with 2013 product.
- Browser Tracking Blocker powered by Abine DoNotTrackMe prevents sites from tracking you and Website Safety Advisor shows safety ratings in search results.

Still Avira SearchFree Toolbar? when it will be removed?
Recently Avira has announced they’ve Beta of Browser Safety Plugin under works which to replace their SearchFree Toolbar, seems it has not yet progressed towards stable version hence we’re still seeing their toolbar in Avira 2014 products. Let us hope this annoying toolbar will be removed soon and replaced with Avira Browser Safety with same functionality.
Caution: Be sure to cancel Avira SearchFree Toolbar Setup at the end when you chose Express installation type. If you install Avira Toolbar unknowingly it will set ask as default search provider and keeps Avira SearchFree as browser homepage and browser new tabs page. Avira SearchFree Toolbar will be installed on all browsers.
