
Yahoo has partnered with Dropbox which now makes it easy for their Mail users to attach and save files to Dropbox accounts. Yahoo Mail has now Dropbox built-in, first you need to link your Dropbox account to Yahoo once, from then onwards you don’t need to sign to Dropbox account to attach files in Yahoo Mail.
Yahoo integrates Dropbox into Yahoo Mail to manage attachments easily
“starting today, Dropbox is available within Yahoo! Mail. This integration allows you to share and store files more easily, whether they are vacation photos or important documents like tax returns and research papers. And, because files can be stored in your Dropbox account online, it’s easy to find the files you want even when you are away from your desktop.” says David McDowell Senior director of Product management for Yahoo Mail in Ycorp blog .
Gmail has Google Drive, Hotmail or now Outlook has SkyDrive and Yahoo Mail now has Dropbox support.
How to Link your Dropbox account to Yahoo (account)Mail?
1. Sign into new Yahoo Mail with your username and password, click on Compose button
2. For New Message tab from attachments icon’s drop down menu select “Share from Dropbox” which will display Share files from Dropbox dialog, click “OK” to send your name, email address for creation of new account for Dropbox.
3. If you already have a Dropbox account click on Sign into Dropbox and enter into it with your username and password.
4. Click on ”link account”, that’s it! your Dropbox account has been linked Yahoo. And from now onwards whenever you signed into Yahoo mail you’ll be automatically signed into Dropbox.
How to share files Dropbox into Yahoo Mail ?
Open New compose message window, from attachment options select “share from Dropbox” choose files to attach from pop up and click on “chose” button. You can select multiple files at once by holding ctrl button on keyboard and then click “chose” button to attach. You can able to attach large files up to 150 MB from Dropbox.
And similarly you can save received attachment to your Yahoo Mail to Dropbox from ”save to” drop down menu button by selecting “Save to Dropbox”. You can save all attachments by selecting “Save all to Dropbox” option.
Do you have any privacy fears? Dropbox says “Yahoo! does not get access to any of the data in your Dropbox unless you specifically pick files to attach to your email”. You can always unlink Dropbox from Yahoo by going to My apps section in your Dropbox account.
