How to set up YouTube Kids on Windows 11 and 10 with Chrome
A parent completes the first setup. These steps follow Google’s web setup flow, then add the Chrome install.
- Open Google Chrome and go to www.youtubekids.com.
- Enter the year you were born to confirm you are the parent.
- Select your Google Account and sign in, or select Skip to use it signed out.
- Agree to the privacy terms and create a profile for your child.
- Pick a content level: Preschool, Younger, Older or Approve content yourself.

How to lock parental controls on the computer version
A child can reach the settings screen unless you set a passcode. Lock it right after setup.
- Open YouTube Kids in the browser or the installed app.
- Select the Lock icon in the corner of the screen.
- Solve the multiplication problem, or enter your custom passcode.
- Select Settings and set a custom passcode your child does not know.
- Open the child’s profile and confirm the content level and Search setting.
- From your own YouTube account, open Settings, then Family Center, then Manage kids profiles to review it later.

How to uninstall YouTube Kids from Windows or Mac
Removing the app deletes the shortcut and window, not the profiles. Kid profiles stay linked to your Google Account.

- Chrome: select Uninstall YouTube Kids, tick Also delete data from Chrome if you want, then select Remove.
- Edge: go to edge://apps and select Details on the YouTube Kids card.
