The PS Remote Play download is free from PlayStation for Windows 11, Windows 10 and Mac, and it lets you play your PS5 or PS4 games on your computer. Install the app, sign in with your PlayStation account and stream from the console at home.
This guide covers the right download for each device, console setup, installation on Windows and Mac, requirements, controllers, connection fixes and a clean uninstall.

Download PS Remote Play from the official PlayStation links
Sony hosts the Windows and Mac installers on its own download page, which playstation.com links directly. Mobile versions come from the App Store and Google Play.

Skip copies on download portals. They repackage the installer and lag behind the build Sony serves.
How to install PS Remote Play on Windows 11 and 10
Prepare the console first, then install the app. On a PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play. On a PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings and turn on Enable Remote Play.
- Open the official PS Remote Play download page and download the Windows installer.
- Run the installation file from your Downloads folder.
- Select Yes if Windows asks for permission, then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Turn on your PS5 or PS4, or put it in rest mode.

Which PS Remote Play download do you need for your Mac?
Sony ships one Mac app from the same page as the Windows version. Check your macOS version under Apple menu > About This Mac and match it to a row.

Is PS Remote Play free?
Yes. PS Remote Play is free to download and use on every platform Sony supports. The app costs nothing on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, and the App Store lists it as free. What you need is a PS5 or PS4 console and a PlayStation account. Any site selling PS Remote Play, or offering an unlocked build, is charging for something Sony gives away.

- Sign in to the app with the same PlayStation account as the console.

Automatic connection keeps failing
The app cannot register the console on its own.
- On a PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play > Pair Device.
- On a PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings > Add Device.
- Enter the number shown on the TV into the PS Remote Play app.
The stream lags, stutters or drops
The connection is too slow or crowded.
- Confirm at least 5 Mbps up and down, and aim for 15 Mbps.
- Connect the PC or Mac with a network cable if you can.
- On Wi-Fi, use a 5GHz network.
- Pause downloads on other devices on the same network.
The network or security software blocks the connection
A router, NAT type or firewall blocks Remote Play traffic.
- Open UDP port 8572 on your router.
- Check the console’s NAT type. NAT Type 3 can stop Remote Play.
- Add PS Remote Play to your antivirus or firewall exceptions list.
How to uninstall PS Remote Play
Removing the app does not change your console or its settings.
- Close PS Remote Play.
- Press Windows + I and open Apps > Installed apps.
- Find PS Remote Play, select the three dots next to it and select Uninstall.
- Confirm, then follow the uninstaller prompts.
- On a Mac, open Finder > Applications and drag PS Remote Play to the Trash.

Which PS Remote Play option should you pick?
| Option | Cost | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|
| PS Remote Play for Windows or Mac | Free | You want a big screen and a wired controller |
| PS Remote Play for iPhone and iPad | Free | You play away from home on a phone or tablet |
| PS Remote Play for Android | Free | You use an Android phone, tablet or Android TV |

Every option streams from your own console. None of them runs PlayStation games without a PS5 or PS4 at home.
Frequently asked questions
Is PS Remote Play free to download?
Yes. PS Remote Play is free to download and use on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android. You need a PS5 or PS4 console and a PlayStation account, and the app itself carries no subscription or in-app purchase.
Where is the official PS Remote Play download page?
Start at playstation.com/remote-play, which links the Windows and Mac installer page on remoteplay.dl.playstation.net, the App Store listing and the Google Play listing. Sony’s support guide for PC and Mac links the same installer page.
Does PS Remote Play work on Windows 11?
Yes. Sony lists Windows 11 and 64-bit Windows 10 as supported, with a 7th Generation Intel Core processor or later, 2 GB of RAM, a sound card and a USB port for the controller.
How big is the PS Remote Play download?
Sony does not publish the installer size for Windows or Mac. It lists the storage you need instead: 100 MB or more on Windows and 40 MB or more on a Mac. The App Store lists the iPhone and iPad app at 19.7 MB.
Is there a PS Remote Play offline installer?
The Windows download is a single installation file that you run and follow on screen. Streaming itself always needs a network connection, because the app connects to your PS5 or PS4 at home or over the internet.
Is there a PS Remote Play app for Mac?
Yes. Sony offers PS Remote Play for Mac on the same official download page as the Windows version. It runs on macOS Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia and Tahoe, and needs 40 MB of storage and 2 GB of RAM.
Is PS Remote Play 64-bit?
Yes. The Windows app requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11, so 32-bit Windows cannot run it. Sony lists no separate ARM build for Windows and publishes no chip requirement for the Mac app.
Is PS Remote Play safe to download?
Yes, when you get it from playstation.com, remoteplay.dl.playstation.net, the App Store or Google Play. Skip download portals, which repackage the installer. If antivirus software blocks the app, add it to the firewall exceptions list.
What is the latest version of PS Remote Play?
The App Store lists PS Remote Play 9.5.0 for iPhone and iPad. Sony shows no build number for the Windows and Mac apps on playstation.com, so take the current installer from the official download page.
Does PS Remote Play work with Windows 7?
No. Sony supports PS Remote Play on 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 only. On an older PC, upgrade Windows first, or stream to an iPhone, iPad or Android device instead.
Why won’t PS Remote Play connect to my PS5 or PS4?
The usual causes are Remote Play being off on the console, a different account in the app and on the console, or a slow or blocked network. Turn on Enable Remote Play, sign in with the same account and use at least 5 Mbps.
Can I use PS Remote Play without a PS5 or PS4?
No. PS Remote Play streams games from your own console, so you need a PS5 or PS4 that is turned on or in rest mode. It is not a cloud gaming service and does not run games on your PC.
